LBT Women of Erie is a social and support group for lesbian, bisexual and transgender women. Our group has been together in its current form since October, 2008. We hold monthly meetings at Brew Ha Ha at the Colony, in Erie. With a few exceptions, all meetings are held on the second Sunday of each month at noon. Members and first-timers are encouraged to bring ideas and information on events that they would like to participate in with the group. Our events are as varied as the women in our group, and any given month you should be able to find an event to attend that will interest you.

On March 16th, the Beans took a trip to the Hurry Hill Maple Farm to attend the annual Maple Festival. The six of us were excited to learn how maple syrup is made and taste some delectable maple products.

LBT Women of Erie Picnic - A Great Time
On September 9th, 21 people gathered at Kim and Andrea's home for the annual LBT Women of Erie picnic. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and chatter as everyone enjoyed great food and played competitive rounds of cornhole. Although there was a little rain, it didn't stop us from having a good time as we continued the party indoors and shared exciting conversations. We want to thank everyone for contributing to the event and making it a success. As we said our goodbyes, everyone was already looking forward to next year's picnic and making plans. Our monthly Zoom meetings are a chance to see familiar faces, and if you have never been to a meeting, we would love to meet you. LBT Women of Erie Leader Nominated for Woman of the Year
Erie, PA - We're happy to share that Kim Conti, one of the current leaders of LBT Women of Erie, is one of five finalists for the Women's Roundtable of Northwest PA Woman of the Year Award. The Women's Roundtable is a networking organization that helps women grow personally and professionally. The annual award recognizes women who go above and beyond to make a positive impact in the Erie community-especially to help other women. Kim was nominated in recognition of her tireless advocacy, activism, mentoring, and volunteer work in the Erie and Erie LGBT Community.

On Sunday, January 8, 2017, LBT Women of Erie held their annual Holiday Dinner at The Colony Pub & Grille, 2670 W 8th St, Erie PA. In addition to great times and great company, there was also a gift exchange and donations were collected for the Second Harvest Food Bank of NW PA.

LGBTQ Info Table at Blues and Jazz Fest
On Saturday, August 6 through Sunday, August 7, members of NW PA Pride Alliance, LBT Women, TransFamily of NW PA, Erie Sisters and Brothers Transgender Support Group, Erie Gay News, as well as individuals staffed an LGBTQ info table at the Erie Art Museum's Blues and Jazz Fest in Frontier Park at W 8th St and Bayfront Highway in Erie PA. The purpose was to help infrm the general community about LGBTQ resources anmd events and part of NW PA Pride Alliance's mission to increase visibility and awareness. People stoppig by the table were friendly and this was a great opportunity to engage with people on a direct, personal level. There has been an LGBTQ table for several years now. Erie LGBTQIA Team in March for Babies
On Sunday, May 1. 2016, representatives from various LGBTQ & affiliated groups, including NW PA Pride Alliance, LBT Women of Erie and The Table participated in the March of Dimes fundraiser, March for Babies, which was held at Penn State Behrend. In addition to walking in the march, members of the community donated over $300. Everyone had a good time and was glad to help out a worthy cause!

On Novermber 10, Laurie Finch, grand poobah of LBT Women, had the misfortune of walking into the Northwest Savings Bank on Pittsburgh Ave. behind the man who was about to rob it. LBT Women at SkyKat 5K
On Saturday, October 23, 2010, the LBT Women of Erie participated in the Erie Illusion Women's Football Team's 1st annual SkyKat 5K at Presque Isle in Erie PA. This one-of-a-kind race & fun run/walk was designed to honor the memory of Kathleen "Sky" Burick, a former Erie Illusion Women's Football player and a stand-out athlete, who lost her 5 year long battle with breast cancer in 2007. Proceeds from the SkyKat 5K benefit the Erie Illusion Women's Football Team and the Kathleen "Sky" Burick Memorial Scholarship which the team presents annually to a deserving Erie County high school athlete. Erie Gay News Folding Party and LBT Women Beanwear
On Wednesday, December 23 2009, Mike Kohler and Tom Wiler hosted the folding work party for Erie Gay News. This was our 17th anniversary issue. The LBT Women of Erie helped out and also showed off their fabulous new Bean Wear (for Hanging with the Beans.) LBT women collect food for Second Harvest
There were 46 pounds of donations collected in November/December 2009 for the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwestern Pennsylvania in the name of the Erie LGBT Community from the terrific food drive at the Presque Isle Gallery Coffeehouse that was organized by the LBT Women of Erie.

LBT Women Horse Drawn Mystery Tour
On Friday, October 23, 2009, the LBT Women of Erie had a fun time at the Horse Drawn Mystery Tour. The Erie County Historical Society had a horse drawn mystery tour of Erie's ghostly side, featuring the best haunts of Erie's historic West Sixth Street. On Sunday, August 29, the LBT Women of Erie went to the Tom Ridge Environmental Center (TREC) and the Stull Center, located on Presque Isle in Erie PA.
LBT Women Pontoon Boat Ride
On Saturday, August 8, 2009, the LBT Women of Erie had a very enjoyable outing to Presque Isle for a pontoon boat ride. They had so much fun, they went back a second time! Waldameer Amusement Park and Water World is also located at Presque Isle.

LBT Women of Erie
LBT Women of Erie is a social and support group for lesbian, bisexual and transgender women. Our group has been together in its current form since October, 2008. We hold monthly meetings at Brew Ha Ha at the Colony, in Erie. With a few exceptions, all meetings are held on the second Sunday of each month at noon. Members and first-timers are encouraged to bring ideas and information on events that they would like to participate in with the group. Our events are as varied as the women in our group, and any given month you should be able to find an event to attend that will interest you.
