Stonewall Potluck Picnic

Stonewall Potluck Picnic
On Sunday, May 22, 2011, friends of John Daly Kin gathered for a celebratory Stonewall Potluck Picnic at Pleasant Ridge Manor in Girard PA. Many friends from the Unitarian-Universalist Congregation of Erie (UUCE) and PFLAG of Erie/Crawford Counties, as well as others, had a wonderful time celebrating LGBT history and community. Rev. Steve Aschmann of UUCE acted as the MC. PFLAG Erie and Crawford Counties meets the 2nd Monday of each month at 7 PM at the UUCE. The event was also a farewell for Reid McFarlane and AnnDrea Benson, who had helped with enacting the LGBT-inclusive Erie County Human Relations Commission ordinance in 2002. Reid and AnnDrea shortly afterward moved out of the area. Photos are by Deb Spilko for Erie Gay News.

PFLAG's OUTRAGEOUS Bingo, May 15th, was a fun time for all. We had a smaller group than usual, but everyone enjoyed themselves. Good cash prizes were awarded, and of course, the home-baked sweets were a treat! PFLAG thanks our bingo committee and everyone who helped them make the evening a success. We'll keep you posted when we set a date for the next bingo party.

PFLAG Bingo Thanks

PFLAG Bingo Thanks
On behalf of PFLAG Erie and Crawford Counties, I extend a warm thanks to those who supported our BINGO and came out in the cold to enjoy fun, food, delicious homemade baked goods, Jayne's secret sloppy-Joes, Jeff's cakes, and games. We had 47 players at this event, 5 Drag Queens, numerous volunteers, a great kitchen crew, and a welcoming sponsorship by the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Erie. A special thanks (after several evenings of meetings) to the entire BINGO planning committee: Jayne May, Mark H, John Daly King, Michael Mahler, Lynne, Keith Roumfort, Don Craig, and Marcha V. A big thanks to Jayne May for the awesome Chinese Auction organization offering chances on great/beautiful gifts, which greatly helped PFLAG donations. Thank you one and all for your donations and support at this event. We are presently planning the next one at a midpoint in May; watch for more information in the future.
