Out In The Silence screening at Edinboro University
On Wednesday, October 27, 2010, Edinboro University of Pennsylvania's LGBTQIA Commission held a screening of the documentary, Out In The Silence, as part of their LGBTQIA Heritage Month activities. LBT Women at SkyKat 5K

On Saturday, October 23, 2010, the LBT Women of Erie participated in the Erie Illusion Women's Football Team's 1st annual SkyKat 5K at Presque Isle in Erie PA. This one-of-a-kind race & fun run/walk was designed to honor the memory of Kathleen "Sky" Burick, a former Erie Illusion Women's Football player and a stand-out athlete, who lost her 5 year long battle with breast cancer in 2007. Proceeds from the SkyKat 5K benefit the Erie Illusion Women's Football Team and the Kathleen "Sky" Burick Memorial Scholarship which the team presents annually to a deserving Erie County high school athlete. Diversity: A Dirty Word?

On October 24, our church celebrated our 2nd Annual "Diversity Sunday." This was a moving service led by Dr. Richard McCarty, our head pastor, Richard Moyer, and our wonderful director of music. As a congregational participant, I had an opportunity to experience the freedom we have in our church to worship a God whom has continued to surprise us with openness and acceptance, not just despite our differences, but rather because of our differences. At the same time, I was reminded that we have not yet "arrived."
