Aging with Pride on the Three Rivers

On Friday, September 5th, members of Aging with Pride Erie traveled to Pittsburgh to meet with the OWLS (Older, Wiser Leaders) of the PERSAD Center in Pittsburgh.  This is the second meeting between the two groups, and interest is high in continuing this new friendship.  The day started with lunch at the Sheraton at Station Square, where about 20 OWLS met with Aging with Pride members.  Following that, everyone headed to the Gateway Clipper dock, where everybody boarded a boat (The Three Rivers Queen) for a tour of the three rivers.  The weather was beautiful, the tour guide was very informative, and everyone learned about Pittsburgh's 466 bridges (most in the world), the beautiful Pittsburgh skyline, and the rivers themselves.  There was even a short lesson on "Pittsburghese" for those unfamiliar with the dialect and the accent. Everyone had a great time, lots of photos were taken, and ideas were being proposed for the next get-together later in the fall.

Who Wants to be a Drag Star, the bi-monthly drag competition show hosted by Cherry Falwell, is returning for a second season at a new venue. Partnering with Voodoo gives us room to grow, plus both food and drinks will be available for the audience to enjoy," said Cherry Falwell.
