Come to Canvases of Caring on October 11

The Canvases of Caring fundraiser is taking place on October 11 to benefit Journey: Healing Together, a mental health facility located at 201 W. 11th Street in downtown Erie.

The October 11th event coincides with National Coming Out Day. William Koehler of Journey: Healing Together encourages our community to "Come Out to Care." In today's climate, visibility and allyship matter more than ever, believes Koehler. Through this event, local LGBTQ and allied artists will donate 40 percent of the sale price of their submitted artwork to support trauma-informed wellness and community-building initiatives developed through the non-profit organization.

The event begins with a pre-sale VIP Happy Hour at 5:30 pm, during which those in attendance will be able to meet many of the artists present to discuss their pieces on display. Refreshments will be served as well. Tickets for the Happy Hour are $25 and are to be purchased in advance at www.joureyht.org. Tickets for the Main Event are $10 and can be purchased at the door. A gift basket raffle will also take place during the Main Event; its proceeds will add to the total raised by the benefit during the night.
