NWPA NOW presents marriage film
On Sunday, June 25 the Northwestern PA. National Organization for Women presents the film "Tying the Knot: The Union That's Dividing America". Tying the Knot digs deep into the past and present to uncover the meaning of marriage today, focusing on rights, privilege, and the law. The film examines who want to marry and those determined to stop them. A discussion will follow the showing of the film. Admission is free. Obituary: Joanna Adams
Jo "Johanna" Adams, 58, passed away peacefully at her residence on April 26, after a long battle with cancer. Her beloved partner of 25 years, Annie Wisniewski, and dear friends and family were at her side. She was born in Johnsonburg, PA, on March 16, 1948, and lived in Los Angeles, CA as well as Erie. She worked for Penelec for 28 years.

Youth: A Hush Fell Over the Halls of McDowell High School on April 26
On Wednesday, April 26, over 250 students at McDowell High School took a vow of silence. These students were participating in the National Day of Silence. The individuals who partook in this event were silent from the beginning of the school day until the end of the school day.
