OBITUARY

Jo "Johanna" Adams

Jo "Johanna" Adams, 58, passed away peacefully at her residence on April 26, after a long battle with cancer. Her beloved partner of 25 years, Annie Wisniewski, and dear friends and family were at her side. She was born in Johnsonburg, PA, on March 16, 1948, and lived in Los Angeles, CA as well as Erie. She worked for Penelec for 28 years.

Jo was the favorite "Aunt Jo" to so many; and was a true woman of grace, whose presence warmed our hearts, enriched our lives and will live within us for always. Her zest for life was composed of so many things—the Cleveland Rockers and the Browns, travel and photography, women's basketball and of course, the casinos. But her real zeal was for her family and friends. She adored her many nieces and nephews, treasured her brothers and sisters and relished in time spent with her friends who were her family as well.

Known for her generous heart and loving spirit, Jo had a smile that filled a room with joy. When she walked into a room it came alive, not because she was the entertainer, the center of attention, but because she truly loved interacting with people, talking and sharing and laughing. She was a most loyal friend who was loved by all she touched. She was not just an aunt or our sister or even just a friend, she was everyone's special friend, their best friend.

Jo passed away much as she lived her life, with dignity and grace. She was not alone in death, with so many friends and family members at her side, as she was not alone in life —of which she used to say, "Life is short; go ahead and eat the ice cream cone!"
