Erie Art Museum Opens 102nd Spring Show on April 3
The Erie Art Museum is excited to announce that the opening for the 102nd Spring Show will be on April 3, 2025 during our April Art After Dark event from 6 - 8 PM. The Spring Show is a juried art exhibition open to any and all artists living, working, or studying within 250 miles of the City of Erie, Pennsylvania.
The Erie Art Museum, in partnership with the PennWest University Art Department's Visiting Artist & Speaker Endowment committee (VASE), selected Keliy Anderson-Staley as the Spring Show 2025 juror. Over the last couple of weeks, Keliy winnowed the 632 submissions down to 67 selections. Awards will be announced at 7 pm during the reception.
Keliy Anderson-Staley is a 2022 Guggenheim Fellow, a 2008 New York Foundation for the Arts Fellow and a 2013 George and Eliza Gardner Howard Foundation Fellow. She has received additional project support from the Sustainable Arts Foundation, Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts, Puffin Foundation, and Houston Arts Alliance. She has been an artist-in-residence at Light Work in Syracuse, Visual Studies Workshop in Rochester and Aurora Photo Center in Indianapolis.
The Spring Show is on view through August 8th, 2025. The Spring Show originated as the Art Club of Erie's "May Show." The inaugural exhibition was held in 1923 with the help of director emeritus and founder of the Art Club of Erie, Lovisa Card-Catlin. The Museum developed a partnership with Edinboro University (now part of PennWest) and expanded the associated programming with Spring Show jurors to include art talks, workshops, and critiques. Generous support for this exhibition is provided by Harry and Nicole Martin and PennWest University Art Department's Visiting Artist & Speaker Endowment.
