Qian Li Transforms Erie Art Museum Main Gallery with Summoning the Wind
ERIE, Pa. The Erie Art Museum is thrilled to announce our next main gallery exhibition, Summoning the Wind, a collection of works by Qian Li. Li draws from her upbringing in a Chinese coastal billage and her journey of raising a biracial family in the United States, and is deeply inspired by the delicate dance between opposing forces. Through painting, print, video, and installations, Qian Li explores the themes of different dichotomies; stasis and change, the private and the public, memory and lived experience. According to Li, "My creative vision often springs from the realm of dreams, infusing my narratives with a sense of mystery and fluidity across time."
Summoning the Wind will open on September 5th at 6 PM in conjunction with the Museum's inaugural event in the 2024/25 Art After Dark music series.
