VisitErie Reports 2024 First Quarter Tourism Numbers
Erie, PA: Erie's tourism figures, as reported by VisitErie, the official destination marketing organization for Erie County, demonstrated growth from January through March compared to 2023. January marked VisitErie's highest month for guide requests, while its winter promotional campaign achieved notable success.
First Quarter January March 2024 Take-Aways:
- 58% of visitors were from out of state, 42% were from in-state.
- The average hotel occupancy was 43.4%, a 2% increase compared to 2023.
- The average daily rate (ADR) was $102, slightly equal to 2023.
- VisitErie's share of the hotel tax revenue was 5% higher compared to 2023.
- In January, nearly four thousand requests were received for Erie Visitor Guides, marking the highest number of guides sent out in a single month.
- VisitErie's winter co-op campaign with VisitPA successfully reached target audiences in selected markets (Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Buffalo) with more than 22.1 million impressions served and more than 154.2 thousand ad clicks. VisitErie's winter campaign video generated more than 1.5 million views alone.
