Register Now for PrEP In Black America’s Mpox Webinar

Calling all public health and sexual health activists! Please join PrEP4All, PrEP In Black America, Treatment Action Group, and AVAC on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, for a webinar on mpox. We'll cover the latest research and updates on how vaccines and treatments work, risk factors for severe symptoms and disease, and the ongoing fight to address disparities in infection rates and uptake of vaccines, treatments and tests that impact Black communities.

In 2022, as cases of mpox surged in the US and worldwide, public health activists, LGBTQ+ communities, and allies mobilized to increase access to vaccines, tests and treatments for mpox. But much more work must be done; an October 22nd 2023 Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that many of those most impacted by severe mpox disease were Black men with an HIV or AIDS diagnosis.

We have also seen signs of a potential resurgence of mpox outbreaks in spring of this year. What does this mean for summer 2023? It is still important for advocates to remain engaged to ensure that members of our community complete their two dose mpox vaccine regimens. Join our expert panel to learn more and ask questions about the impact on communities disproportionately affected, as well as how advocates and communities can be proactive at preventing the spread of mpox.
