New Events for the Zone Dance Club

by Michael Mongera

Erie's number one gay bar is getting back into the groove, one sequin at a time. Amidst the seemingly tail end of an unprecedented pandemic, the Zone is bringing the queens out of quarantine, with two new events! Rebecca Mae is now hosting weekly shows called Fierce Friday's. Queens near and far will have the opportunity showcase a sickening performance and entertain the crowds. Showtimes will start every Friday at 10 PM. No cover will be required.

The bar will also continue its Showstopper Monday performances during the second Monday of each month. Local Queens like Pissi Gabune and Debbie perform showtunes and musical numbers after screening of a musical of their choice. Showstopper Mondays are inspired by a love of musical theatre and sharing that camaraderie with the audience. Pissi Gabune later said, "We wanted to do something to represent a side of drag that isn't as visible in the Erie area."

As the CDC has officially announced that if patrons are fully vaccinated, we can only hope to see normal operating hours and procedures return to normal. Hopefully, we will see a lit-up dance floor in good time. Check out the zone at (@zonedanceclub) on Instagram and Facebook for possible updates.
