NW PA Pride float in Perry 200 Parade
On Saturday, May 25, NW PA Pride Alliance participated in the historic Perry 200 Grand Patriotic Parade. The parade marked the bicentennial of the Battle of Lake Erie, which was part of the War of 1812. There were about 10-12 people on the float, and the spectators were friendly and supportive! There were tens of thousands of spectators and 10,000 people participated in the parade. Special thanks go out to Ben Heggy for providing the truck and vehicle and to Season Crannell for creating the lovely lighthouse logo. Also thanks to Chris Dye for setup and teardown, and to Alex Bolla and Preston Blood for teardown. Photos are by Michael Mahler, co-editor for Erie Gay News.

LGBT support groups forming in Jamestown NY
The Mental Health Association (MHA) in Jamestown, New York-supported by The Pride Center of Western New York-will be providing support for the local LGBT community.
Currently two groups are forming. "RU12" is here to help with the experience of coming out and "GIST (Gender Identity Support and Talk)" is here to provide support for the transgender community.
In addition to providing support to individuals with the unique obstacles that we, as LGBT citizens come to face in our personal and professional lives, the volunteers at MHA are hoping to hear from the community to find out what productive suggestions you may have about the services and events you would like to see offered and planned here at MHA in Jamestown.
