Penn State Behrend GASE & LEB hosted the Halloween Drag Show and Costume Contest on Friday, October 27. Debbie Does Drag hosted the festivities ,  and students were treated to performances by Vivian Vendetta-Sinclaire, Monica Lexin, Ryder Slowly, Sassy Sascha, and PSB alum Shea D' Heaux.

14th Annual Penn State Behrend Drag Show

14th Annual Penn State Behrend Drag Show
Returning after a three-year hiatus due to COVID, Penn State Behrend's Gender and Sexuality Equality Club (GASE) presented the 14th Annual Drag Show on April 14. Pittsburgh performer and Behrend alumnus host Lola LeCroix performed with Anna Steezia, Calipso, Kat De Lac, and Shari Turner. Behrend health organizations tabling at the event included the counseling center, health, and wellness center, and off-campus health organizations Adagio Health and Central Outreach Wellness Center. Loca print and tv media covered the event, and a photo of the event made the front page of the Erie Times-News. The audience enthusiastically enjoyed the performances, and GASE looks forward to continuing the event.

Community Spotlight #5: Penn State Behrend GASE (The Gender and Sexuality Equality Club)
Trigon, as it was originally called, was founded around 1992 by Dan Ester, a student at Behrend. In 2017, the name was changed to GASE (The Gender and Sexuality Equality Club). The mission remained the same to provide a safe space for exploration and expression of one's gender and sexuality without judgment and to foster a healthy environment on campus for all people of all genders and sexualities.

Penn State Behrend GASE Drag Show Returns April 14
After a hiatus due to the pandemic, Penn State Behrend's LGBTQIA+ student group, GASE, is excited to bring back their drag show on April 14 following their week of programming. See the performances in McGarvey Commons in the Reed Union Building from 7 to 9 PM. The theme of this year's drag show is floral/spring and will feature Lola LeCroix and four other performers. GASE will be serving mocktails during the show.

On Friday, October 16 at 7 PM, Penn State Behrend's Gender and Sexuality Club. GASE, is proud to be partnering with Kevin Kantor to present an evening of spoken-word poetry.  The performance will be held via Zoom, and will showcase Kantor's work.  Kantor will also provide deeper insights to the themes explored in their work, which range from sexuality and gender identity to sexual violence and healing as a survivor. Wuvable Oaf artist and writer Ed Luce to speak at Behrend
Come meet artist and writer Ed Luce! Luce will be on hand to discuss his acclaimed indie series Wuvable Oaf, which follows Oaf Jadwiga's search for love, friendship, great music, cats and more in a San Francisco-like city. Whitney Matheson of USA Today has written of the series, "whether you're gay/straight/something in between, I think you'll find yourself rooting for the Oaf and his quest for somebody to wuv." Luce will examine various ways in which issues of gender and sexual identity have resonated in his work, and will talk about his experiences as a writer and illustrator. This event is co-sponsored by GASE, Penn State Behrend's Gender And Sexuality Club. The event is tenatively scheduled for 12:05pm on April 18 in Behrend's Reed Union Building (Room 114)

12th Annual Behrend Drag Show

12th Annual Behrend Drag Show
On Thursday, November 8, the Gender and Sexuality Equality Club (GASE) at Penn State Behrend held their 12th annual Behrend Drag Show. The event has hosted by Pittsbugh-based Lola LeCroix, and other performers included Anna Steezia, Sasha Nolan, Danyel Vasquez, and Dixie Shurwood. The room was packed with students from Behrend and area universities, as well as other local community members. There were six entrants for the amateur drag contest, with the winner being 13 year old Club Diamond (aka Jewels), who was there with her mother. The room was packed and there was also coverage by the Erie Times News.

Night of Life Vigil at Penn State Behrend
On Thursday, October 25, Trigon members and supporters at Penn State Behrend held a Night of Life Vigil in remembrance of youth lost to suicide. This was part of a statewide observance by Pennsylvania Student Equality Coalition. Participants read names written on balloons and a short biography. There was also a balloon for participants to write names of other people. It was a deeply moving and reverent event. Photos are by various members of Trigon and Michael Mahler of Erie Gay News.

On Thursday, November 3, 2011, Trigon, the gay-straight alliance at Penn State University - Behrend Campus, held their 5th Annual Drag Show, which featured regional drag performers, who put on a terrific show!
