Report: E3 Youth LGBTQA Summit on April 12-13
The E3 Youth LGBTQA Summit took place on April 12-13, 2019 at Strong Vincent Middle School. The event was possible because of the two prime sponsors Community Care Behavioral Health and Greater Erie Alliance for Equality, as well as several other local donors (Systems of Care, Erie Education Association, Giant Eagle, and State Farm). The focus of the Summit was to strengthen the supports for LGBTQA Youth in the community through engagement and education. The event kicked off with a free concert on Friday evening with opening act DreamStates, a duo based in Akron, Ohio taking the stage before the headliner, award-winning Ryan Casatta, a California-based musician.

The E3 Youth LGBTQA Summit will be hosting all young individuals ages 12-21, their families, and professionals who impact LGBTQA youth. The Summit is focused on building a safe, supportive, and connected community through the cooperation of regional advocacy organizations, as well as local educational and health care professionals, to empower our youngest members. The final schedule of summit events will be released soon. The event will be held April 12-13, 2019 at Strong Vincent Middle School, 1330 W 8th St, Erie PA. On April 12 & 13, 2019, Erie, PA will host the region's first summit focused solely on engaging and empowering LGBTQA youth. The summit is organized by the local advocates and is open to all young LGBTQA youth, their families, and those who work with LGBTQA youth. The target age range of the youth will be 12 to 21 years old. This summit is designed to connect and engage LGBTQA youth, and those in their world, so that we can create a more supportive, safe, and empowered community. The subnission deadling for requests for session proposals - workshop sessions is November 30, 2018, and notifications will begin January 4, 2019.
