Unique storytelling event honors World AIDS Day, history of HIV/AIDS in Pittsburgh
PITTSBURGH-It has been a year of celebration and remembrance for Allies for Health + Wellbeing, as the organization has marked its 40th anniversary in 2025. Allies was founded as the Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force in 1985 to meet the needs of people living with and dying of AIDS in our community. Since then, Allies has expanded its focus beyond HIV prevention and care to address the diverse needs of the Pittsburgh community, including primary care, holistic HIV treatment, PrEP for HIV prevention, hepatitis C and STI testing and care, gender-affirming care, and behavioral health care.

Pittsburgh, PA - November 28, 2017 – Allies for Health + Wellbeing (Allies), formerly Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force, the region's most comprehensive provider of HIV treatment and support, is pleased to announce the addition of mental health therapy to our continuum of services.  Through a generous grant from the Staunton Farm Foundation, Allies is adding a full-time therapist position and actively seeking a professional to fill the post.
