Support Erie Gay News at Erie Gives Day on August 11

This year marks an exciting new chapter for Erie Gay News.

Earlier this year, Erie Gay News established the Erie Gay News community nonprofit organization, creating a stronger foundation to support and expand its mission for years to come. As a newly eligible nonprofit, Erie Gay News will participate in Erie Gives Day for the first time on Tuesday, August 11.

Erie Gives is a 24-hour community-wide fundraising event organized by The Erie Community Foundation. Donations made during Erie Gives not only support participating nonprofits directly, but also receive a proportional share of a bonus pool, making every gift go even further.

For more than 30 years, Erie Gay News has been a trusted source of information and connection for Northwestern Pennsylvania's LGBTQIA+ community. Beyond publishing a monthly newspaper and online calendar, EGN promotes local organizations and events, connects people with resources, encourages volunteerism, and organizes community service projects that bring people together and make a positive impact throughout the Erie region.

Through the new nonprofit, Erie Gay News will continue publishing the newspaper while expanding opportunities to organize community initiatives, collaborate with partner organizations, and support projects that strengthen the LGBTQIA+ community throughout the Erie region. As a nonprofit organization, Erie Gay News can now seek grants, receive tax-deductible donations, and build sustainable funding that helps preserve this important community resource for future generations.

Every donation, whether large or small, helps support community journalism, outreach, collaboration, and programs that keep LGBTQIA+ people connected throughout Northwestern Pennsylvania.

Give Back at PopLuck

There's another easy way to support Erie Gay News on August 11.

On Erie Gives Day, PopLuck will host their special "Food for Thought" promotion benefiting the Erie Gay News community nonprofit. Simply stop by PopLuck on Tuesday, August 11, mention Erie Gay News when you make your purchase, and a portion of your sale will be donated to support EGN's nonprofit mission.

Bobbie Fenno Bobbie Fenno (She/Her) joined as a contributing editor in 2025, but has been involved with Erie Gay News as a folding volunteer previously. She graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor's degree in Business, a certificate in Project Management, and an Associate's in Information Technology.
