32nd Annual Erie Pride Picnic: Joining Together at Presque Isle

By Bobbie Fenno

The spirit of summer and community came alive on Saturday, August 16, 2025, as nearly 200 attendees gathered at Presque Isle State Park's Rotary Pavilion near Beach 7 for the 32nd Annual Pride Picnic. Hosted by NWPA Pride Alliance, the event proved once again why it remains one of Erie's most cherished traditions.

The afternoon was filled with laughter, food, and connection. True to its roots, the picnic was centered around community sharing, with tables lined with potluck dishes brought by attendees. NWPA Pride also provided hot food and refreshments, served from 2-4 pm.

Families, friends, and new attendees gathered, creating a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere. Young, old, LGBTQ+, and allies alike, all had a safe place to enjoy the beautiful afternoon. The annual Pride Picnic Family Portrait, gathered everyone together to capture a snapshot of the pride and joy that is Erie's LGBTQ+ community.

The Pride Picnic's success was made possible thanks to the generosity of sponsors: Erie Insurance, Erie Food Co-op, Central Outreach Wellness Center.

Other organizations provided LGBTQ+ information and resources, including Erie Gay News, Family Services of NW PA, LBT Women of Erie, PNC Bank, Safenet, TransFamily of NWPA, and more.

The day was a reminder of what Pride is all about; celebrating love, building community, and creating spaces where everyone belongs.
