Community Spotlight: VisitErie
By Bobbie Fenno
Embracing the "Good Life. Great Lake." for Everyone

VisitErie, Erie County's official destination marketing organization, recently introduced a fresh new brand and tagline: "Good Life. Great Lake." But this change is more than just visual. It's a reflection of a deeper mission to celebrate all the things that make Erie a vibrant, welcoming, and inclusive place to live and visit.
The rebrand captures the nostalgic, carefree spirit of Erie, inviting people to experience life at a relaxed pace, surrounded by natural beauty, community charm, and modern amenities. Whether you're watching the sunset at Presque Isle, exploring local shops and museums, or enjoying the diverse food and drink scene, Erie offers something special in every season.
VisitErie's role extends far beyond promoting attractions. Since its founding in 1961, the organization has been a vital part of Erie's tourism growth and economic success. Today, tourism contributes over $1 billion annually to the local economy and supports 15,000 jobs. VisitErie also offers resources, planning tools, and partnerships for local businesses to help them thrive.
Popular initiatives like the annual Erie Visitor Guide, released in January, and Erie Restaurant Week, an annual 10-day event in January, showcase the area's attractions while supporting local hospitality and culinary talent. But just as important is VisitErie's commitment to inclusion, working to ensure that everyone, no matter who they are or who they love, feels invited to experience the good life in Erie.
Living the good life means making sure everyone feels seen, safe, and valued.
VisitErie is committed to celebrating diversity and inclusion. They proudly highlight Erie as an LGBTQIA-friendly destination through their LGBTQIA Travel page, which offers resources and travel ideas tailored to the community. Whether you're planning a weekend getaway or looking to connect with welcoming spaces and events, VisitErie ensures that all are welcome here.
