New Mural by Local Muralist Raeann Krueger Beautifies Customs House Construction

Erie, PA - The Erie Art Museum commissioned local muralist Raeann Krueger to complete a new mural project utilizing the construction barrier in front of the Customs House. The project began the week of the 4th of July, transforming the barrier into a piece of public artwork, and will conclude with a community art project in August led by Raeann.

As structural improvements are being made, the Museum saw an opportunity to turn a temporary barrier into a colorful celebration of local talent and community spirit. The mural will serve as both an act of beautification and a collaborative art experience.

"I was excited to help out with this project because art, music, and culture is essential to our community," said Krueger. "The Erie Art Museum is such an inspirational and educational place that offers our community the opportunity to learn and get inspired."

During the Museum's Second Sunday event on August 10th from 2-4 PM, families and visitors will be invited to paint or draw with Raeann in order to bring the mural to life. Supplies and support will be provided by the Museum, as guests contribute their own touch to this evolving piece of public art.

This initiative reflects the Museum's ongoing commitment to engaging the Erie community through accessible, inclusive art experiences.
