Compton's Table Annual Gala Art Auction

By Bobbie Fenno

Compton's Table, a local nonprofit committed to uplifting Northwestern Pennsylvania's queer community, is putting out a call to LGBTQIA2+ artists for its upcoming Gala Art Auction this October.

Open exclusively to queer-identifying artists, the auction will serve as a centerpiece of the organization's annual fundraising gala, spotlighting original artwork that celebrates queer creativity and expression. Participating artists may submit up to five original pieces in a variety of media. Painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, woodwork, and mixed media are all welcome.

In addition to showing their work in front of a broader audience, contributing artists will receive 25% of the final sale price of each piece and a 25% discount on a gala ticket. All submitted works will be showcased in both an online auction and during the in-person gala event.

This is more than an art show. It's a celebration of queer voices and visions. Compton's Table is creating a space where artists can not only support a vital cause, but also be seen, valued, and affirmed.

Founded in Erie, Compton's Table offers essential programs and safe spaces for LGBTQIA2+ individuals across the region. From family-friendly drag shows to queer open mic nights and mental health support groups, the organization works year-round to build an inclusive and affirming community. Proceeds from the gala will help sustain these programs and expand the organization's reach.

Submissions are due by noon on August 1, 2025. Full details and submission guidelines can be found on this Compton's Table Google Doc.
