LGBTQ+ Boxing Short PACE Starring Beck Williams (Unprisoned) and Bex Taylor-Klaus (13 Reasons Why) to Screen at Out on Film Atlanta

Atlanta, GA, September 5 2024 - Filmmaker Beck Williams is proud to announce the Georgia Premiere of their latest short film, the intimate, LGBTQ+ boxing drama PACE at Out on Film Atlanta this September. A tale of uncertainty, determination, and acceptance, PACE explores the deeply personal experience of navigate a life altering choice when you don't have all the answers yet. But, through it all, PACE shows there is no finish line in being valid in who we are. PACE will screen at 12:00pm on September 29, 2024 at the Landmark's Midtown Art Cinema. Tickets to the festival can be purchased here.

"PACE is a deeply personal project for me", said Williams. "While it's an intimate look through the trans lens, the film really explores a vital universal question: do we choose a new path if it comes at a high cost?"

PACE follows Remy, a transmasculine boxer struggling with dysphoria, who is wresting with the decision to transition at the potential cost of their marriage. Remy meets shy trans boxer Joey, who is returning to the gym post-transition, facing his fear of being judged or ostracized by his former boxing community. When Remy invites Joey to train with them, the two find solace and camaraderie while facing challenges they each have been avoiding. As Remy's relationship with their wife reaches a boiling point, Joey reminds Remy that their journey is a process, and it's okay not to have all the answers yet.

The film stars Beck Williams (Unprisoned, Kenan) alongside Bex Taylor-Klaus (Fox's Deputy, Netflix's 13 Reasons Why). It is written and directed by Beck Williams. Producers include Beck Williams, Shannon Elizabeth Clark, Aaron Krimetz, Kelly Lou Dennis, and Sarah Evans, executive produced by Bex Taylor-Klaus, David Florin, Nas Albizuris, and Autumn Ivy, with cinematography by Leo Behrens, editing by Joe Siebert, music composed by Taylor Page, and sound design from Kai Scheer. PACE held its World Premiere at OutSouth Film Festival, and is going on to screen at Out on Film Atlanta this September.

"The team and I are so thrilled that PACE is an official selection at the Out on Film Atlanta", said Williams. "Our wonderful star Bex Taylor-Klaus was born and raised in Atlanta, so it's an extra special hometown premiere for us."
