Compton's Table Launches Mural Project

On July 31st, Compton's Table hosted a mural planning event that brought together over a dozen queer youth and young adults, dedicated board members, and two enthusiastic community volunteers. The gathering focused on mapping out a revamp design for Compton's Closet, a crucial service that Compton's Table is eager to reopen.

Compton's Closet provides community members with free access to gender-affirming clothing and hygiene products, a vital resource for many in the queer community. The mural project aims to visually represent the inclusive and supportive spirit of Compton's Table, reflecting the organization's commitment to eradicating systemic barriers for queer and gender nonconforming youth and young adults.

Participants at the event collaborated on the mural's design, ensuring it captures the diverse experiences and identities within the community. This initiative marks a significant step in revitalizing Compton's Closet and underscores Compton's Table's ongoing dedication to fostering a welcoming and affirming environment for all.

Stay tuned for more updates as the mural project progresses and Compton's Closet prepares to reopen its doors, continuing to support and uplift the queer community.
