Step into the FEED! - Video Portraits at Masquerade at the Museum!

ERIE, Pa. - Erie Art Museum is pleased to announce Video Portraits by media artists from at the 2023 Masquerade at the Museum. FEED activates the Museum's Historic Customs House with an installation featuring YOU and your masked friends on the walls of the Hagen Gallery.

The young artists from FEED combine the latest AI tools with old-school gear to create one-of-a-kind portraits of costumed revelers at the Masquerade. Guests can participate in two different portraiture experiences.

Collin Bonner, Donny Draco and Nighry Shelton bring you ANALOG PORTRAITS, handmade with vintage hardware and shown on over a dozen screens mounted throughout the gallery. These young artists eschew the advanced cameras and preset filters in their smartphones, preferring the unique textures and real time feedback of classic camcorders and video FX boxes. Collin, Donny, and Nighry will be creating from 7-8:30 pm and 9:30-11 pm in the Hagen Gallery.

Kelly Killz teleports guests inside DIGITAL PORTRAITS, enchanting guests of the Masquerade like the Phantom did to Christaine. Kelly uses machine-learning apps on her phone to paint celebrants with projected AI collages from Phantom of the Opera. Together with videographer FEED visiting artist Iki Nakagawa (NYC), Kelly transports you inside of the artwork itself. Kelly Killz will be creating from 8-10 pm in the Media Room off the Hagen Gallery

Collectively, the individual portraits become a group portrait of the community centered around Erie Art Museum, joining in a celebration of art and culture in downtown Erie PA on Halloween weekend.
