Erie, PA: Five groups selected Erie as their host city for their upcoming conventions this September beginning with State Farm Mutual Auto Insurance. In total, the groups will have an estimated economic impact of close to $1 million on the Erie area*.

State Farm Mutual Auto Insurance September 18 - 20
Daughters of the Nile (supports of Shriner's Hospitals) September 21 - 24
Pennsylvania State Button Society September 23 - 24
Marcellus Shale Coalition September 25 - 28
Pennsylvania Fraternal Order of Police September 29 - 30

From regional groups, state associations, and national organizations, Erie continues to see growth in booked conventions and conferences. The bookings reflect targeted marketing efforts by VisitErie, Erie County's official destination marketing organization. VisitErie President and CEO, John Oliver remarked, "Erie's increased recognition as a desirable meetings destination is due in part to our flexible meeting locations, expanding amenities, and the support of our tourism partner businesses. VisitErie is dedicated to ensuring that our region continues to be a compelling and attractive destination for conventions and conferences, that leaves a lasting impression on our visitors."

*Although there are other groups coming to the Erie area, the above-mentioned conferences are a direct result of VisitErie marketing efforts and responses to RFPs (requests for proposals).
