PFLAG of Chautauqua Summer Meetings on Thursdays
PFLAG of Chautauqua, a support group for allies, loved ones and the entire Queer community, is continuing the summer tradition of weekly meetings at Chautauqua Institution, 6:30 every Thursday, at the UU Fellowship House, during the summer season. AND THAT'S NOT ALL! We are making plans for activities to continue year-round, expanding outside of Chautauqua Institution, including a celebration of National Coming Out Day on October 11, 2023.
Patricia Measer (President) and Bethany Robson (Secretary) are working together with longtime PFLAG leader Steven Aschmann to redesign the shape and flow of PFLAG's local activities. Expanding outside of CHQ Institution to go year-round and county-wide is a big step toward outreach. For the past 2 years., we have hosted a table at the Jamestown Pride Festival and attended the Warren Pride Festival. We are planning a special event on October 11, 2023 for National Coming Out day. We are pro-actively inviting the participation of young folks of all ages to participate and support for the LGBTQI+ community everywhere, as well as engaging with local organizations. We are supporting the LGBTQI+ of Chautauqua Institution (see their webpage, https://www.lgbtqchq.com/special-events) and we are grateful to the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Chautauqua (UUFCHQ.ORG) for all kinds of support over the years. And we seek to develop collaboration with other local groups and allies, including the BIPOC community. Please get in touch if you share our goals!
