Local LGBTQ Education Show Gets Spotlight from YouTube

Powered By Rainbows™ is a highly accredited show with over 6.7 million viewers and almost 100,000 subscribers on YouTube. The show is produced in Northeastern Pennsylvania and provides LGBTQ educational episodes and resources every week to over 50 countries.

For a 3rd year in a row, Powered By Rainbows™ is being honored by YouTube as part of their 2022 Pride Celebration. This year, we will share this spotlight with amazing organizations including: them, TED Talks, Time Magazine, BuzzFeed Video, The Try Guys, Insider Magazine, Good Morning America, NowThis News, Huffington Post, and PBS Originals.

Every year, YouTube chooses LGBTQ creators to highlight for their Pride Month celebration of diversity in June. These creators are highlighted on YouTube's official channel under a special "Come Through: Pride Over the Years" playlist and each selected creator also gets featured in YouTube's commercials on national TV networks throughout June. This means, our local show will be featured on YouTube's official channel and on national TV advertisements all month long.

To be included in this highlight, creators must provide valuable and credible LGBTQ education to viewers. As their playlist even says "From the evolution of the parade to major LGBTQ+ figures, explore the rich history of Pride."

Our video, "Fun With Flags: Pride Flags and What They All Mean" is highlighted in this playlist and in their national commercials this month. This video examines and defines all 94 pride flags of the LGBTQ community. This video is just one of over 580 episodes we have on our channel which helps viewers better understand the community and help them find validity in their sexual orientation or gender identity.

About Powered By Rainbows™: Started in September 2018, our show has broadcast over 580 episodes covering LGBTQ history, health, science, religion, literature, and other subjects. We have gained a massive following online with over 6.7 million viewers and just under 100,000 subscribers in over 50 countries on earth. During Pride Month, we will broadcast new episodes every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9:00 AM Eastern Time from our Pennsylvania studio. For the remaining months of the year, we broadcast new episodes every Friday at 9:00 AM.

Aside from weekly episodes, we also provide an LGBTQ safe space for community members to find resources, advice, coming out tips, and a place to feel accepted even if their families or friends don't accept their sexual orientation or gender identity. We also provide over 17,000 school districts across the country with LGBTQ educational resources for their students. This is partly thanks to our books "LGBTQ Friendly Classroom" for educators (Published in 2022) and "Shadow's First Christmas" for children. Both of these books and our show are here to help even more people understand and accept the LGBTQ community in future generations.
