Mini-Grant Request for Proposals (RFP) for 2021 LGBTQ+ Youth Advocacy - Deadline December 3!
2021 LGBTQ+ Youth Advocacy $1,500 Mini-Grant is open to any high school group or high school age youth-serving group that is interested in using the funds to support an LGBTQ+ youth advocacy and belonging-related project. Examples include:
- Starting a student club or activity for LGBTQ+ students
- Film Festival
- Book club
- T-shirts/Jersey campaign
- Educational materials
- Posters, stickers, flyers
- Activities that promote LGBTQ+ rights and belonging - dinners, dances, sporting events
- And many more!
Awards may go to an established group looking to do something new to support the LGBTQ+ community, or to seed the start of a new group.
Applicants should:
- Have projects that are explicitly aimed toward LGBTQ+ community needs
- Agree to have their project featured in:
- Media publications/press events
- A presentation of their project to the board
- Inclusion in ECF publications
- Inclusion in Fund related requests, such as Erie Gives
Eligible Organizations: Applications may be submitted by any Erie County 501(c)3 organization.
Ineligible Organizations: For-profit, sectarian religious activities, fund-raising solely, or hospitality projects.
Deadline: Applications must be submitted at https://www.grantinterface.com/Home/Logon?urlkey=Erie by December 3, 2021.
Other Important Dates: Finalists will be selected Mid-December 2021, and the grant recipients will be announced before the end of the year.

LGBT Community Funds at The Erie Community Foundation, a donor advised fund of The Erie Community Foundation, was established in 2014 by a grant from the Greater Erie Alliance for Equality to address the unique challenges that LGBT people face every day.
The mission of the LGBT Community Endowment Fund is to provide financial support to organizations that address the community's unique challenges and to create a positive, thriving environment.
Through the power of collective philanthropy, contributions to the Fund generate impactful grants to nonprofit organizations and projects throughout NWPA. These grants will address wide-ranging needs focused on key priorities, examples of which are:
- Creating safe schools for LGBT students
- Alleviating homelessness among our youth
- Addressing substance abuse and health challenges
- Promoting equality at work, in housing, and in all facets of community life
- Encouraging family support and recognition
- Supporting a more LGBT-inclusive, strong and vibrant home region
