The 5 minute interview was Titus' first national television interview as the Democratic nominee for Erie County executive. The interview opened by featuring Titus' viral campaign video, and focused on the historic nature of the race: if Titus wins, they'll become the first transgender county executive in United States history. Tyler Titus is a mental health professional, small business owner, and the president of the Erie School Board. Over the past 15 years, through their work at the Erie County Office of Children and Youth and as a full-time therapist for youth in the foster system, Tyler has developed a nuanced understanding of how intergenerational poverty, neglect, abuse, and violence impacts families and communities. Tyler has built their career on helping others, and now they're running as the Democratic nominee in the November 2, 2021 election for Erie County executive to take that work to county government.
