Southern Tier Queer Peers News

from MHA in Chautququa County

Recently the group Southern Tier Queer Peers, which meets Tuesdays from 5:30-7 at the MHA in Chautauqua County, hosted a community building game night. This event was a wonderful success and is part of an exciting move for the group.

There were twenty people in attendance, and we played something that almost approached being Dungeons and Dragons. There was a lot of laughter, and many new connections made.

In light of this, we have decided to continue on with other community building events to draw in the queer community and connect them in the Western New York and surrounding region! We feel that these events should interest a wide range of the community. We will continue to have game nights, but also bring in other activities or points of connection.

For our next event, we will hold a poetry night on September 3rd during our normal meeting time, 5:30-7, at 31 Water St. Suite 7, Door 14, Jamestown NY.

Anyone will be welcome to come and read poem whether original or not, or just to listen to others read. There will be time limits to allow everyone a chance to read, and we will allow for some mingling and discussion time as well.

Any inquiries should go to Sheridan A. Smith, 716-490-4438 or sheridan.smith@mhachautauqua.org if you have questions regarding this event, future events, or the group in general.

We look forward to this and many other events to bring together this community in a spirit of fun, camaraderie, and support.
