27th Annual Erie Pride Picnic

from NW PA Pride Alliance

NW PA Pride Alliance held the 27th Annual Erie Pride Picnic on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at the Rotary Pavilion at Presque Isle. About 300 people attended. There was a delicious potluck buffet, a raffle, the annual Family Portrait, and great times! As the PA Commission on LGBTQ Affairs had met in Erie the previous day, some members of the commission stayed in town to go to the picnic and presented Erie's LGBTQ community with a proclamation from Governor Tom Wolf recognizing Pride.

Groups providing information about their organization at the picnic included Crime Victim Center of Erie County, Erie VA Medical Center, Greater Erie Alliance for Equality (GEAE), Human Rights Campaign (HRC), LBT Women, PNC Bank, Rebecca Mae's Drag Brunch, St. Mark's Episcopal Church, and UPMC for You.

NW PA Pride Alliance wants to thank the volunteers and attendees for making the event such a success, as well as those who donated forty-four pounds of non-perishable items to the Second Harvest Food Bank of NW PA! Additionally, food left over from the picnic was dropped off at Erie City Mission.

NW PA Pride Alliance thanks our generous donors:: Erie Insurance, Erie County Department of Health, NWPA Tobacco Control Program, UPMC Hamot, Erie Gay News, Hospice of Metropolitan Erie, Lion's Den Adult Super Store, Northwest Alliance, SafeNet Center, Greater Erie Alliance for Equality (GEAE), Lake Erie Counseling Associates, Mooney's Bakery, and UPMC for You, Pride was also made possible by NW PA Pride Alliance's board and the help of volunteers including Doug Anderson, Gary Snyder, JR Snyder, Kim Conti, Andrea Shaffer, and others.
