Ms. Foundation Condemns Trump Anti-LGBTQ War

New York, NY - August 7, 2017 -Statement from Ms. Foundation for Women Vice-President, External Affairs Angelique Roche:

"This weekend, behind closed doors, the Trump administration doubled down on an outrageous and blatantly discriminatory war on the LGBTQ community. Make no mistake, the President's plan to ban transgender people from the military - and kicking out the thousands of transgender people currently serving -- is a part of a larger effort to disenfranchise LGBTQ people of their basic rights as Americans.

"Coming alongside efforts to end employment protections for the LGBTQ community more broadly, it is clear that the Trump Administration believes it has the authority to take away civil and human rights on the basis of hate and discrimination and nothing else. This is a clear attack on our Democracy, on our freedoms, and on our values.

"The Ms. Foundation stands with the LGBTQ community in fighting against these attacks. We won't go back."
