Deadline for June 2016 print edition (issue # 247) of Erie Gay News is Sunday, May 15

For the next print edition of Erie Gay News (issue # 247, cover dated for June, 2016), please send in calendar events, news items, and other info for late May 2016 and beyond by Sunday, May 15. We expect that the next print edition will come out on Tuesday, May 24. Please note that the upcoming issue will be on display at the 24th Annual Pride Picnic on Saturday, June 4 at the Rotary Pavilion at Presque Isle State Park.

If you are writing an article for Erie Gay News, please try to keep it to 500 words or less; we generally try to have most articles be a page or less. (250 words is a half-page, which is also a good length.) We can post longer articles to our web site.

If you have anything happening in late May 2016 (or even later-we can always add items to the internal calendar for later listing), please get it to us by Sunday, May 15. Please always bear in mind the "6 week" rule; if you are having a special event that you want to let folks know about, you need to get us the details even preliminary/tentative is okay) 6 weeks before the event takes place. Michael Kenton Mahler (He/Him) has been the editor of Erie Gay News since it was founded in December 1992. He is also a founding member of NWPA Pride Alliance. He serves on the Governor's Commission for LGBTQ Affairs and is active with Aging with Pride and the Erie County HIV Task Force. He became the first LGBTQ person to be fully out in May 1992 when appearing on local TV coverage. Michael currently works as a software developer for Erie Custom Computer Applications.
