From Buffalo United Artists: On Monday, April 25 at 7:00 in the Alleyway's Main Street Cabaret (672 Main Street, Buffalo, NY), we will have a reading of Emile and Benny by James Marzo. The reading feature Tyler Brown, Timothy Patrick Finnegan, Preach Freedom, Becky Globus, Corey Grant, Shabar Shabazz Rouse, and Brandon Williamson with stage management by Carly Weiser and direction by Christopher Standart.

Emile and Bennyis based on the true story of boxing great, Emile Griffith. In March of 1962, Emile Griffith and Benny Paret faced off in the ring for the third time in order to decide the welterweight championship of the world. Unfortunately this meeting resulted in the tragic death of Benny Paret, ultimately haunting Griffith for many years and consuming him with guilt his entire life. Throughout his illustrious career of 111 professional fights spanning a total of 18 years, Griffith never got over the death of Paret.

A question/answer session will follow the reading. This event is free and reservations are not required.
