The mission of the Human Relations Commission is to eliminate discrimination in employment, housing, and public accommodations through investigation, identification, and consultation. We administer the HRC Ordinance in the interests of all citizens to ensure the equal opportunities of all persons.

The Commission provides a system of equal justice for employer-employee, landlord-tenant, lending institution-home buyer, and business owner-patron. The Commission educates individuals through workshops and seminars to confront discrimination, while at the same time teaching the inherent value of diversity. Our goal is to build bridges of respect and understanding among diverse groups within Erie County.
