Freedom to Marry Video Showcases First Marriages in Alabama

February 13, 2015 - For Valentine's Day, Freedom to Marry has released a video celebrating the joy and happiness of the first weddings for same-sex couples in Alabama this week. On Sunday night, Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore ordered local officials to defy a federal court ruling ensuring marriage for same-sex couples. But an order issued yesterday by Judge Callie Granade has led to an increasing number of counties that have opened their doors to same-sex couples.
