Local Lesbian Appointed to Erie Co. Human Relations Commission

Ebony Davis, of Erie PA has been confirmed for a four-year position on the Erie County Human Relations Commission.

Erie County Executive Barry Grossman had contacted leaders in the local LGBT community in an effort to fill the position with an openly-LGBT citizen.

Ebony is a mother of three and is a Volunteer Cultural Orientation Trainer at the International Institute. She is attending Mercyhurst College, where she is working towards a BA in Sociology.

Also serving as Erie County HRC chair is Mark Hoovler president of PFLAG Erie and Crawford Counties. Mark is also openly gay.

The term for the position filled by Ebony is for four years and is volunteer.

Erie County's Human Relations Commission ordinance has included sexual orientation and gender identity as protected categories since 2002.
