Volunteers Walk to Fight Suicide
Erie, PA − Suicide is the 13th leading cause of death in Pennsylvania, yet suicide can be prevented. Volunteers from Erie, PA and the surrounding areas are joining the quarter of a million people who are walking in towns across the United States to draw attention to the fight for suicide prevention. The annual Erie Out of the Darkness Community Walk, hosted by the Western Pennsylvania Chapter will be held at 9:30 a.m. on September 24th at the Rotary Pavilion in Presque Isle State Park. This walk supports the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's education and support programs and its bold goal to reduce the annual U.S. rate of suicide 20 percent by the year 2025.

Out of The Darkness Experience Sep 19
This year, due to the current circumstances, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is unable to host an in-person event on Presque Isle. Instead, we are having an Out of the Darkness Experience, which includes a number of engaging and self-care activities during the week of September 13th leading up to a radio and online ceremony on September 19th. Out of The Darkness Walk on September 19
On Saturday, September 19. the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) will hold the Out of The Darkness Community Walk at the Cookhouse Pavilion at Presque Isle State Park, Erie PA. Check-in/registration time is 9:30 am, the walk program begins at 11:00 am, and the walk ends at 12:30 pm.
