The LGBT Center, its board members, staff, and local officials will be holding a ribbon cutting for the organization's permanent home at 1323 N. Front Street in Harrisburg at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 17. The space will be open to the public at 5 p.m. for an open house and reception, coinciding with Harrisburg's Third in the Burg.

New state historical markers to commemorate LGBTQ+ history
LGBT History Month is being celebrated with the unveiling and dedication of two new state historical markers on Sunday October 10 at 2 PM in Harrisburg. These are the first two markers with an LGBTQ+ history theme to be installed in Pennsylvania outside of the City of Philadelphia. The markers were approved earlier this year by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission. The ceremony will be held on the front steps of the Pennsylvania state capitol.

The Long Road to LGBTQ+ Equality in Pennsylvania chronicles the efforts that activists have taken in Pennsylvania to achieve full equality for LGBTQ+ people, which debuts this year in honor of the 50th anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall Riots, a pivotal event in the LGBTQ+ movement toward equality.
