Celebrate Aging With Pride Award to Blane Dessy and Randy Shannon

Aging With Pride (AWP) gave its 5th Celebrate Aging With Pride award to the late Blane Dessy and Randy Shannon on June 25th. As a couple, Blane and Randy were instrumental in creating AWP, developing its activities, and building the AWP community. Because of their efforts, AWP members will enjoy activities such as book club and group dinners for many years to come. The community they helped build is a vital part of the fight against isolation among LGBTQ+ elders in NWPA. AWP members cannot thank Blane and Randy enough for their gift of time and talent.

As a volunteer with AWP, she is currently spearheading the group's education initiative.
