The City of Erie is seeking a Byrne Criminal Justice Innovation (BCJI) Project Coordinator to lead collaborative efforts to improve safety and quality of life in the Erie Eastside neighborhood (6th to 26th Street, Wayne to Holland Streets), acting as a liaison between residents, community-based organizations, and law enforcement.
Some Specific Responsibilities include:
- Oversee the implementation of the BCJI Action Plan, including collaborative efforts to address priority crime problems and implement specific interventions by key law enforcement and community partners.
- Mobilize residents and businesses to participate in safety activities and other efforts to build open communication lines between law enforcement and neighborhood stakeholders.
- Coordinate planned activities such as National Night Out and community clean-ups.
- Document and publicize BCJI and neighborhood achievements.
- Compile and maintain calendar of events, database of participants, and administrative records/reports.
- Collect data for required quarterly federal reports.
- Manage and facilitate BCJI Committee and subcommittee meetings.
- Manage the program budget, including overseeing funding contracts and required funder reports.
- Create and implement a sustainability plan, including securing additional funding consistent with safety program objectives and manage additional grants as required.

The City of Erie is seeking a full-time Grant Administrator for the Department of Planning and Neighborhood Resources. In this role, a successful candidate would administer City grant and loan programs for entrepreneurs and business owners, administer state and federal grant and loan opportunities, connect entrepreneurs and business owners to resources and services, and serve as post-award grant administrator.
Some specific responsibilities include:
- Manage, promote, and evaluate applications to Flagship Fund Micro-grant program.
- Manage and promote the Kiva Erie Hub Program and the Small Business Diversity Loan Program.
- Manage and promote ARP Grant program applications.
- Serve as post-award project manager/administrator for Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) Grants and assist with other awards assigned by the DECD Director (ex: Keystone Communities, PA Housing Finance Agency, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, City of Erie Enterprise Zone, and Appalachian Regional Commission).
- Assist City's Grant writer with requested tasks for select grant applications, such as scheduling meetings, collecting letters of support, assisting with grant submissions.
- Coordinate with the Grant Writer for post-award activities, project development/management, and grant reporting.
- Work collaboratively across city departments including economic and community development, public works, planning, public safety, communications, and the Mayor's administration.
