Respect for Marriage Act Passes House and Heads To Senate - Contact Sen. Toomey
The United States Senate will soon be taking up the Respect for Marriage Act, which passed the House 267-157 (with all 220 Democrats and 47 Republicans voting in favor) on July 19, 2022. The region's western Pennsylvania House members, including Kelly and Thompson, voted no.
Erie Gay News urges its readers to contact US Senator Pat Toomey - US Senator Bob Casey is already a yes (see article here) to urge him to vote yes on the bill when it comes before the Senate. Here is how you can do so:
To relay a comment by telephone call the Washington office at 202-224-4254 or the Erie office at 814-453-3010.
To send an email comment, visit https://www.toomey.senate.gov/contact/email-senator-toomey Select the "Judiciary Issues" for the topic - it's the only issue that is close to this topic - and type in your comment in the field.
To send a letter to Senator Toomey, please direct it to the Erie office as sending it to Washington would take too long due to the mail scanning process. If you go this route please send your letter to:
