Monkeypox Vaccine Available in Erie at Central Outreach

August 1, 2022 - Central Outreach Wellness Center in Erie officially has the monkeypox vaccine, JYNNEOS. The Wellness Center received 15 doses today.

Only people who have had skin-on-skin or face-to-face contact with a person that has monkeypox should come get vaccinated. This criteria must be met to qualify for vaccination. No insurance is required for vaccination.

JYNNEOS is 85% effective in preventing monkeypox.

The antiviral treatment for monkeypox called tecovirimat (TPOXX) is also available at Central Outreach Erie for those infected.
