Pennsylvania Equality Project Cofounds Florida Social Justice Project

The Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Equality Project is proud to announce their assistance with the formation of the Florida Social Justice Project, an incorporated non-profit organization in Florida. The two organizations will be working in tandem to address similar issues in both states.

Within the first month of their existence, the Florida Social Justice Project has already begun building its social media presence. A landing page has been added to the Pennsylvania Equality Project page that lists the mission of the new organization. The President of the Florida Social Justice Project intends to file for 501(c)(3) status from the IRS by the end of April, and to launch its own independent website.

Both organizations have as part of their mission to help the most marginalized people within the LGBTQ+ community. In both states, LGBTQ+ youth account for far too many of the homeless people on the streets. Pennsylvania Equality Project is working with a team of leaders in Meadville to open a community resource center that is combined with a drop in safe space shelter. Depending on how successful the efforts are in Meadville, the Florida Social Justice Project will take the same action in Broward County.
