Harrisburg Gay Men's Chorus to deck the halls of state Capitol Building with musical offerings Thursday
HARRISBURG, DECEMBER 10-The House Democratic Diversity and Inclusion Council today announced The Harrisburg Gay Men's Chorus will perform an abbreviated version of their holiday concert at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 13 in the Main Capitol Rotunda.
The group will perform songs from their holiday program, The Big Gay Christmas Extravaganza. The family-friendly performance is free and open to the public.
The Harrisburg Gay Men's Chorus has amused central Pennsylvania audiences for 31 years with their choral offerings. The group is made up of men from diverse paths and origins who came together through music and public outreach efforts.
The Diversity and Inclusion Council serves as an advisory body and communication link between the Democratic Leader and the Democratic Caucus. The Council works to promote a workforce that is inclusive and represents the diverse constituencies served by legislative members of the Caucus while exploring ways to raise awareness and nurture a culture of diversity.
No taxpayer dollars will be used to fund the event.
About the Diversity and Inclusion Council: The purpose of the Diversity and Inclusion Council shall be to continue to position the House Democratic Caucus for long-term sustainable success. This shall be accomplished by assisting in the development of a Caucus-wide diversity and inclusion policy, monitoring the diversity and inclusion climate within the Caucus, recommending appropriate action to address deficiencies, and assisting with the creation or enhancement of diversity and inclusion initiatives and evaluating the effectiveness of such initiatives.
