TransFamily 5th Anniversary Picnic on July 29!
from TransFamily of NWPA
On July 28th, 2012, the very first TransFamily of Erie support group meeting was held at the Mental Health Association of NWPA. Since then, we have grown to three additional support groups, advocated for the rights of transgender people throughout NWPA, educated many in the larger community on transgender issues, and started on the road to becoming a fully non-profit organization. While we have much more work to do, we want to take this time to celebrate our progress with the Erie Community! Everyone and all ages are welcome!
On Saturday, July 29 from noon to 6pm, join us at the Erie Zoo picnic grounds for a day of fun, food, and friendship! This will be a pot luck event. TransFamily will supply burgers, hot dogs, and rolls. Bring a dish to share and BYOB! The Erie Zoo picnic area is located directly behind the zoo off of Glenwood Park Avenue. The picnic grounds provide a playground, restrooms, and professional horseshoe pits. You must supply your own horseshoes, so bring them if you've got them!!
We will also have cornhole games and encourage you to bring other outdoor games/activities you might wish to share. Of course, you can also take this time to pay the zoo a visit and support the great work they do in the community!
Please RSVP to the event at https://www.facebook.com/TransfamilyOfNWPA/ and message us with any questions!
