US Senator Casey congratulates Erie on 25 years of Pride
I'd like to congratulate the NW PA Pride Alliance and the broader Northwestern Pennsylvania LGBTQ community on 25 successful years of Pride events I want you to know that you have a voice and an ally in Washington. I am here and I am fighting for you. From equality to safety, I'll continue to make sure that every Pennsylvanian, regardless of sexual orientation, gender, or race, is represented. We must not leave anyone behind.
Hate crimes, particularly against the LGBT community continue to plague our county. Earlier this month, I reintroduced the Disarm Hate Act, which would define a misdemeanor hate crime and would prevent individuals convicted of such a crime from purchasing a firearm. A person who has been convicted of crime based on hate shouldn't have access to a gun. You can rest assured that I remain committed to introducing and supporting legislation that will protect the rights of all Americans.
I wish the NW PA Pride Alliance many more years of success and look forward to seeing you in the future. Should you ever wish to contact me, or offer any feedback, please visit: www.casey.senate.gov/contact/.
Warm Regards,
Bob Casey, Jr.
