Harrisburg -  June 12, 2016Equality PA responded to the worst mass shooting in U.S. history that took place at a night club that serves the LGBT community in Orlando.

Equality PA Executive Director, Ted Martin said, "We all mourn deeply for the victims and their families after this horrific crime. And while this incident is still under investigation, unfortunately, violence is a threat to so many in the LGBT community every day. Today while we celebrate Pride in communities around Pennsylvania, we stand in solidarity with those who are the victims of violence and their families and call for unity against all forms of attack against LGBT people who simply want to build a life for themselves and their loved ones."

It is reported that 50 people were killed and many more were injured. While the motivations for the crime are still under investigation, early reports point to the crime being targeted at LGBT people.
