Regional Body Electric Seminar Coming to Cleveland, October 10-11

To release people to live the full range of being human is the goal of The Body Electric School. On October 10-11, Body Electric will offer its introductory course, Celebrating the Body Erotic, at a confidential location in downtown Cleveland.  This seminar will be men only. (In the future, the BE coordinating body hopes to bring the full range of courses for women only, couples and those in the trans spectrum.) This will be the only Body Electric introductory course to be offered in the region this year and is expected to draw men from 250-mile radius and beyond.

Body Electric is centered around erotic touch. Erotic touch is touch that arouses sexual energy but need not result in sexual action or release. Unfortunately, through societal and religious training, we have layered erotic touch with guilt and shame. Societal concepts of the perfect body, age-appropriate behavior and good (and supposedly, normal) sexual behavior only increase the confusion and bad feelings around erotic energy. This is often more pronounced in GLBTs.

CBE is a full two-day workshop, for men of all ages and body types who are ready to explore new levels of feeling, both within themselves and within a community of men. Come explore your erotic potential through the mind, the body and the heart using conscious breath, movement, process work, and massage with other men, led by experienced faculty. The workshop focuses on the entire body in a setting that is safe—as well as playful and honoring.

The workshop fee is $595. Discounts are available for those acting before September 10th. There are limited opportunities for scholarships.

Because this is a unique course, the BE coordinating body has been holding information sessions in the community. The next two sessions will be held on May 21st at 7:30 PM. Sessions will be held at Pilgrim United Church of Christ (Tremont) and First Unitarian Church (Shaker Heights). This is a drop-in (clothes on) opportunity. We urge you to come and ask any questions or concerns you may have, with men who have already taken the seminar.
