Obituary: William David Stanley 


William David Stanley, age 59, of Erie, died Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Saint Vincent Healthcare Center. He was born July 17, 1953 in Erie, son of the late William and Rita Haraczy Stanley. 


Bill attended Westminster College and graduated from Gannon University. He received his Master's in Clinical Social Work from West Virginia University. Bill worked in various positions as a clincal social worker in Pittsburgh, until starting his own counseling service in 1993 at Lake Erie Counseling with his best friend and loving companion, Dale Allgeier. Bill and Dale met in Erie in 1985. They opened Lake Erie Counseling in 1993. Bill and Dale worked together for the past 28 years. Bill developed his reputation as a skilled psychotherapist, and will be greatly missed by his clients, friends, and family. Bill and Dale were also known in the world of antiques, often advertising "Big Red Tent" sales. Bill is already missed by his two cherished pups, "Scoobie" and "Maggie". 


In addition to his parents, Bill was also preceded in death by his grandparents, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He is survived by his best friend and cherished companion, Dale Allgeier; his two sisters, Lynda Height (Robert) of Orange Park, Florida and Cynthia Toale (Ben Pike) of Erie; two nieces, Rebecca Height of New York City and Christine Laurin (Patrick) of Orange Park, Florida; one nephew, Timothy Toale (Katy) of Houston, Texas; and two great-nephews, Sean and Zachary Laurin.
